Solid Wood Daybeds
Solid wood daybeds are another product line that we, Bunk Beds Canada, are specialized at.
Daybed is a form of platform bed with both head and footboard at the same height plus back guardrail. If you look at our bunk beds, the upper deck is essentially a daybed with one more guardrail in the front.
Quick summary:
Platform bed is a type of bed frame.
Daybed is a type of platform bed.
Bunk bed is a daybed stack over a platform bed.
Box-Spring
Similar to a platform bed, daybeds also come with a set of slats. Your mattress rests on top of the slats so you do not need to use a box-spring for a daybed.
Slats are roughly 2.5” apart, depending on make and model, which is sufficient amount of space to keep your mattress breath while providing proper support.
Underbed Storage
All of our solid wood daybeds come with ample clearance underneath and therefore lots of space for storage.
You can add a set of drawers or underbed dresser under your daybed. For guests and particularly sleepovers, you can add a trundle bed under the daybed. Just roll out the trundle when you have a guest and multiply your sleeping area.
Solid Wood
All of our daybeds are made of premium solid wood. Depending on which collection you choose, we use Southern Yellow Pine, Birch, Maple or Aspen wood in our daybeds.
Modular Collection Daybeds
One of our unique daybeds is from our Modular Collection line up. In this collection, you start with a daybed instead of a toddler bed, and your furniture grows with your child.
Right after the crib, get a solid wood daybed from our modular collection which comes with a front guard rail. Then by around 6 years of age, add leg riser and a ladder and turn the daybed into a cute low loft bed. Later on you can again modify your loft bed into a high loft or a bunk bed.
Daybeds Sizes
We offer five sizes for our daybeds. The most common size is twin, or single, size. You can also get a twin extra long daybed, double size (or full size), double extra long and finally queen size daybed.
